Our mission:

With the help of our community and volunteers, To promote oral health awareness and provide a means for members of the Texas community to receive oral care.

900 patients provided with dental treatment.

In 9 years, 1,300 runners have run 9,000 miles with the help of 400+ volunteers.

Unlike any other.

Unlike other 5k’s or marathons, you run as many or as little miles as you want. The more miles you run, the more miles you raise for the cause. Last year, sponsors donated $28 per miles run, per runner!

Miles for smiles – Community, advocacy, care

Miles for Smiles is a collaborative effort of Texas predental and dental students to raise money for those who cannot afford much-needed dental care. Since its inception in 2008 by students at the university of texas at dallas, the event has evolved into a daylong family event that brings the community together in the name of oral health advocacy and education.

Members of all ages are invited to run (or walk) as many miles as they can for the cause to the tunes of live music and entertainment.

Along with free snacks, drinks, and raffles, prizes are awarded to the male and female participants in their respective age groups, and each participant receives a take-home hygiene kit!

Dentists and dental students will provide free oral cancer screenings as well as information on ways to maintain oral health including proper brushing and flossing habits!

All proceeds benefit the social services fund at texas a&m college of dentistry, which provides funding assistance to those unable to afford dental care.

Join us at the exall park in dallas to make a difference in the community by helping provide oral health care for those who need it most!
